Dear Shadow Valley Families,

Welcome Back!
I hope you had a fun and relaxing summer. I also hope you are recharged and ready
to start a new school year. I am so delighted that you are part of our amazing
learning community. I welcome and value your positive energy and dedication to
excellence in education, and I look forward to working with you and your children.
We are going to have an incredible and productive school year. Our skilled and
devoted staff have worked diligently to get it all setup and ready. Our enthusiastic
secretary has spent hours learning our new system and helping our parents with
registration, order materials and much more. Our hard working and conscientious
custodians have spent the entire summer thoroughly cleaning the facility. And, our
much-appreciated PTA is gearing up to welcome families, provide volunteer
opportunities, and offer other exciting events and programs. We are indeed a joyous
and caring community with the common goals of nurturing responsible, caring
students and promoting high-level learning.

Warmest Regards,
Vincent Ardizzone
Principal

Vincent Ardizzone received his teaching degree from The French Community in Belgium, where he taught multiple grades for one year. He then received his Bachelor of Education, Master of Education, Principal Endorsement, Math endorsement, STEM endorsement and ESL endorsements in the United States.
For 21 years, Vincent has had the incredible honor of working in education. He is leaving his position as the Ogden School District STEM Director to return to his true passion: collaborating directly with teachers and students.

In August 2016, he was the principal of the first STEM school in Ogden, Utah. In addition, he was the principal at two highly-impacted schools: James Madison (4 years) and Heritage Elementary (1 year). He worked as an Instructional Coach and a data analyst for the SPED department and as an Admin-Intern. During Vincent’s first 10 years in education, he gleaned crucial experience as a classroom teacher, where he taught 5th and 2nd Grades.

Vincent has taught Education classes at the University of Phoenix for 10 years and the last two years at Southern Utah University. He has received training in the Turn-Around Program from the University of Virginia. He was part of the STEM Leadership Academy in 2016, and the Review Committee for the STEM Action Center in 2017.

Mr. Ardizzone has been asked to present at the UCET Conference as well as the National Summit Conference of Project Lead the Way. He was the National Distinguished Principal from Ogden for 2017. He was the recipient of the Huntsman Award of Excellence in Education in 2016. And he received the Ogden School District Achieving Higher Award in 2015.

Most importantly, Vincent is the husband of a beautiful wife and is the proud father of four incredible children. He also loves to train for marathons, do genealogy and family history work, speak French with his family, cook, serve in his church, explore new restaurants, and travel on a budget.
