Parents
Communication is essential for students to be successful. An effective education takes place where there are strong partnerships between parents/guardians and the child’s class teacher(s). This section was designed to provide families with a centralized spot for important and general information and resources. We encourage parents/guardians to get involved, volunteer, visit the school and ask questions.
Counseling
Shadow Valley counseling brings together several tasks: classroom guidance lessons, group and individual counseling, and responsive services. These lessons are based on identified needs and may be about numerous topics throughout the school year. Some topics address things such as anger, social skills, bully prevention, decision-making, getting along, grief, behavioral rules and expectations, friendship, kindness and more.
Learning
At Ogden School District, we aim to develop our students intellectually in a happy and stimulating environment where they will experience a well balanced, but rigorous, academic program. Firm foundations established in K-12, prepare students for the future, and OSD is focused on studies that center on guiding questions that open up and develop thinking skills, subject knowledge, concepts and ideas while allowing each student to progress their potential at their own pace.

Counseling

Welcome to the Counseling page of our website!

Comprehensive Counseling and Guidance (CCG) is a statewide program which is designed to provide support for all students as they navigate their way through their education and prepare to become College and Career Ready by the time they graduate from high school.

At Shadow Valley Elementary School, CCG Program brings together several tasks: classroom guidance lessons, group and individual counseling, and of course responsive services. These lessons are based on identified needs and may be about numerous topics throughout the school year. Some topics address things such as anger, social skills, bully prevention, decision-making, getting along, grief, behavioral rules and expectations, friendship, kindness, etc.

CCG also works to provide an awareness of multicultural and global citizenship to allow students to see opportunity in the ever evolving global communities. Finally, the school counselor provides social and emotional support allowing students to develop resiliency and strength as they work towards their future.
